Courses

In January 2019 I will teach two courses:

  • LHA 3018:  Global Governance and Educational Change  – A course that covers key theories and conceptual frameworks for understanding world order and international relations in education, and reviews the work and practices of major actors in international education, from the UN agencies, the World Bank, through to foundations and civil society.
  • CIE1001:  Introduction to Comparative and International Education This course introduces students to various conceptual frameworks and core issues in the study of education in international and comparative perspective. It begins by looking at the role of education in economic, social and political development; moves on to theories of convergence, divergence and globalization in education and then ends with a look at how comparative approaches are used to develop policies and reform agendas to achieve equity and quality learning outcomes.
